The Science Department at Mission San Jose High School strives to instill scientific intelligence and social intelligence in our students.  Our goal is to instill passion and lifelong learning, while considering the ethical, societal, and global implications of scientific advancement. To achieve this goal, we guide our students to become resilient critical thinkers, collaborative learners, responsible individuals, and effective communicators.

Critical Thinkers make an objective and logical evaluation of a question or an issue in order to form an informed scientific decision.

Collaborative Learners acknowledge that problems are not unidimensional and work cooperatively with others to be part of a solution.

Responsible Individuals demonstrate strong work ethic and practice respectful behavior.

Effective Communicators seek appropriate guidance (self-advocacy) and engage in productive conversations.
