Joanna Jensen - Assistant Principal
Welcome to Mission San Jose High School. I am thrilled to begin my 10th year with Fremont Unified School District, 4th year as an Assistant Principal, and prior as a school counselor. Each year, I look forward to the start of the school year and welcome the opportunity to work with the students, staff, and parents of the Mission community. I went into education with the belief that all students should have opportunities to learn and grow to become engaged members of our society. I earned a B.A. in Sociology with a Minor in Criminal Justice from Sonoma State University and M.S, in Educational Counseling from National University. Most recently, I earned a certificate in School Violence and Culture as I am always looking for opportunities to enhance my knowledge in various areas. I am a strong believer in self-care and know that we cannot have great accomplishments without taking care of ourselves. One of my favorite activities outside of school is dance. I grew up in a dance studio and now have the privilege to share my knowledge of tap, jazz, and ballet with children of all ages. I really encourage all students to find an activity outside of school that keeps them active and promotes self-care. This year, I am assigned to assist all 9-12th grade levels with the last names R-Z. I'm looking forward to a wonderful school year ahead. Be sure to stop by my office to say hi!
