Joanna Jensen - Assistant Principal
Welcome to Mission San Jose High School. I'm excited to work with MSJ community as Assistant Principal. I have worked with Fremont Unified School District at Mission San Jose High School this past six years as a school counselor and am thrilled to begin my seventh year in this new role. I look forward to getting to know the students, staff, parents, and the Mission community better as Assistant Principal.
I went into education with the belief that all students should have opportunities to learn and grow to become engaged members of our society.
I earned a B.A. in Sociology with a Minor in Criminal Justice from Sonoma State University and M.S, in Educational Counseling from National University. Most recently, I earned a certificate in School Violence and Cultural as I am always looking forward for opportunities to enhance my knowledge in various areas.
I am strong believer in self-care and know that we cannot have great accomplishments without taking care of ourselves. One of my favorite activities outside of the school is dance. I grew up in a dance studio and now have the privilege to share my knowledge of tap, jazz, and ballet with children of all ages. I really encourage all students to find an activity outside of school that keeps them active and promotes self-care.
This year, I am assigned to assist all 11th-grade students and 9th-grade students with last names M-Z. I'm looking forward to a wonderful school year ahead. Be sure to stop by my office to say hi!
